F's all around

I finally finished my art final!

Reasons why I am not an art major:
1. Sleep is 1.
2. I can't reach the top shelf of many things in the art room (drying racks, paint closet, etc)
3. Vincent van Gogh's ear

3 friends and 3,000 miles

it's 94% happening.

Between returning from Nicaragua and departing for Japan, my roommates, Lindsey and Maddie, and I are road tripping from California to New Jersey!

Lindsey needs to drive her car home in NJ, so we decided to turn it into a little epic excursion.
Who knows what we'll do yet or where we'll be exactly (Linds and I are secretly hoping we can bop over for Bonnaroo, but it needs to be discussed more), so I'll let you know when the time comes.
But for now, I'll tell you it's going to be a triple threat, trifecta of fun for the trinamic trio!

travel me tuesday (even though it's wednesday): giant's causeway

First of all, I'm still considering this Tuesday. Sorry if you disagree.
This week, I am taking you to one of my favorite places on earth. Located on the Northwest side of Ireland, somewhere between fairy tales and pots of gold, is this gem, Giant's Causeway.

Maybe it's just me, but Giant's Causeway is one of the most breathtaking places I ever had the honor to visit. Perhaps it was the 2 a.m wake up call and hours of bus, taxi, tube and plane travel to start the day. Perhaps it was my body saying I needed to rest, yet my conscious egging me on hour after hour. Perhaps it was my wonderful friends, Megan, Kaylene, and Patrick who joined me on this epic excursion. Or perhaps it was the utter realization of not knowing where you were going, and then suddenly finding yourself in a place you only thought existed in dreams. Whatever it was, it has stayed with me ever since.

Meet Megan and Kaylene

I should let you know that Megan was feeling awfully sick that day, whereas Kaylene and I were on cloud 9.

Note to self: it isn't where you go that makes the best memories, it's who you go with, and I couldn't have been more blessed that day at Giant's Causeway.

wednesday. weekend update

This past weekend, I helped my dear friend, Danielle, with a commercial shoot for Rent.com. We had to dress 35 mannequins in 50s galore. It's not as easy as it sounds.
After three different trips to thrift stores and raiding our closets to no end, we were able to fashion together a stellar wardrobe. The mannequins, however, were a completely different story.

They were so obnoxiously heavy and awkwardly set-up, it was nearly impossible to get clothes on them, let alone nice primped 50s wear. They were also as fragile as glass.

kids were by far the creepiest

We had a few casualties during transportation and set-up/tear down, but in the end, it was a sight worth seeing.
We worked the guys from Conscious Minds (who made this commercial),  so I'm super excited to see how this one is going to turn out.

my roommate, lindsey, is the one to the far left

travel me tuesday

I'm slacking big time on the blogging. Turns out, it's a lot harder than it seems. Who would've thought?
I have decided try a weekly commitment of blogging about travel. Why?
1. I
2.  love
3. traveling

I will post places I want to go to and places I have been to before, but would love to go back. And I'll give little precursors to the trips I will be heading on in the near future (and I possibly have another trip, but it is still in the works), so stay tuned.

The first place is a little island off the coast of Naples, Italia. I don't remember much when I visited 7 years ago, but I do remember it's gorgeous! It's a called Ischia (with an Italian accent).

My mom, sister, cousin and I stayed here for a few days and it was amazing! We walked through the narrow streets, was caught in a thunder storm, and I tried rabbit for the first time (still don't know how I felt about that). We also rented a fiat to tour the island one day, only to go up some rugged road and ended up with the rear tire 6 inches off the ground.
we left the car like that when we went on a hike

 Here are some more photos

Beautiful, right? There's just something about islands. I can't wait to go back...whenever that will be...
